The P2 Receiver Unit Tester (RUT) is designed for use with the Pinpoint Staff Safety System. It enables maintenance personnel to test the infrared Receiver Units that form part of the system, ensuring reliable operation and peace of mind for all users.

The RUT emits the same coded infrared signals as a standard Personal Infrared Transmitter (PIT), but at a reduced signal strength. This lower output requires the RUT to be pointed directly at the Receiver Unit being tested, with minimal distance between the two for best results.

Key Features

  • Emergency Button: Simulates pulling the pin on a PIT. When successfully activated, the Receiver Unit's LED flashes at a moderate rate, and an "Emergency" alert appears on Display Units and/or Pagers.
  • Assistance Button: Functions like the standard Twin Code PIT button. The Receiver Unit’s LED flashes rapidly while the button is pressed, and an "Assistance" message appears on Displays and/or Pagers if triggered successfully.
  • Patient Call Button: Mimics the activation of a Wrist PIT or Patient Call Badge PIT. The Receiver Unit’s LED flashes rapidly while the button is held, and a "Patient Call" message will be shown on Display Units and/or Pagers if the signal is received correctly.
  • Test Button: Sends a standalone test signal to verify the infrared reception. The Receiver Unit's LED flashes rapidly during the test and returns to its previous state once released. This test does not trigger a message on Displays or Pagers, but confirms basic functionality.
