The Personal Infrared Transmitter (PIT) is to be used by staff to activate the system. The 316 is powered by a removable 6V Pinpoint battery.They should be worn at all times by staff and should be attached to the belt or some other suitable part of clothing by one of the straps, hooks or clips, to allow for easy access.The 316.4 is a Single Code PIT – it emits an Emergency alarm signal when the PIT has been pulled from its retaining pin. When the PIT has been pulled from the pin, infrared light is immediately transmitted to the receiver in the room. There is no need to point the PIT directly at the receiver units for the alarm to trigger.
