The P2 Reset Hub is used to reset calls on the Pinpoint system. When an RFID tag is presented to the Reset Hub; it transmits a
message to reset the alarmed unit(s) to an idle state as well as removing the particular call(s) from the display. The reset hub can be used to either reset a singular type of call level (Emergency, Assistance, Patient call Etc.) or can reset all calls in one operation depending upon the tag presented.
The Reset Hub can be used to reset a single unit, a range of units or an entire system - however once this has been programmed into the unit upon installation it is set until changed by an authorised Pinpoint Engineer.
In order to reset a singular level of call - the appropriate RFID tag must be presented to the hub. This is particularly useful where for example both an Emergency call and a Patient call are ongoing. Once the Emergency call has been dealt with and can now be reset -
but a patient may still require assistance. Presenting the Emergency reset RFID tag to the Reset Hub will reset the Emergency call - while leaving the Patient Call on the active call list.
Once an RFID tag has been presented - the reset hub will perform its reset function once - to activate the unit again the tag must be removed and then re-presented to the unit after its “lockout” period. The “lockout” period is indicated by the flashing ring of lights on the unit. The use of the indicator is two fold - primarily as a reassurance that the reset message has been sent but also indicates the period of “lockout”. This is a safety feature. Once the “lockout” period has ended and the LEDs have extinguished another tag may then be presented.
Design
The Reset hub is designed to fit a standard single gang UK backbox. The fascia is a single piece design to maximise durability; the main body is made from a Polycarbonate/ABS plastic blend with an inserted clear Polycarbonate indication window. All of the plastic utilised within the fascia has integrated Biomaster additive to destroy or inhibit the growth of a wide range of microbes, fungi and moulds over the entire lifespan or the product.
The unit is designed to be secured to the backbox using 30mm security screws which are countersunk into the fascia.
