A huge welcome to the newest member of the Pinpoint team, Stefan Downey.

Stefan has been with Pinpoint for a couple of months now, settling into his role as Installation Engineer and getting up to speed with the Pinpoint system.

Here he shares more about his background, his initial impressions of Pinpoint and his hopes for the future.

Can you tell me a little more about your previous experience? 

I was working in Construction Management when the pandemic hit, and my role shifted from being on the ground to a more office-based position.

I found that environment was less appealing, so I took a detour into telecoms, working as a fibre optic technician on the City Fibre contract.

What made you want to apply for the role at Pinpoint?

I really wasn't enjoying my role in telecoms so I started exploring job opportunities.

When I came across the opening at Pinpoint, I saw that my skills aligned well with the position. After doing some research, I could see that Pinpoint was an industry leader and felt the position would be a good step in my career progression.

Why did Pinpoint appeal to you as a company?

Pinpoint's specialist and innovative systems immediately captured my attention. Beyond that, the structure of the company really appealed to me - it is not hierarchal and there is a real sense of community.

Working with clients like the NHS and other healthcare providers is incredibly rewarding - I feel like I am making a difference in my day-to-day work which is always a huge plus!

What are your first impressions of Pinpoint?

It's evident that Pinpoint invests significantly in its staff. From day one, I received the necessary tools and support to carry out my role and integrate fully with the team.

Joining as a newcomer didn't feel daunting; there's a strong collaborative environment, and I've consistently felt supported by the team.

What do you hope to achieve in the position?

I want to progress my career at Pinpoint by becoming fully efficient in my current role, eventually progressing to a senior position within the business.

Ultimately, I want to continue to further develop my knowledge and skills and climb the career ladder, contributing to training new team members and potentially moving into a management role as well. I'm excited about the journey ahead at Pinpoint!
